The Crystal Palace on the fairgrounds in Picton, Ontario was built in 1887 by Frank T. Wright as a smaller hybrid replica of the 19-acre iron and glass structure in Hyde Park, London England designed by Lord Joseph Paxton as a center piece at the 1851 exhibition celebrating the world's new technological age. Picton's replica is believed to be the only remaining replica in North America.
